Niger Delta Artisinal Training
This project had a mission to improve the income generating employment opportunities for Nigerian youth and young adults around the Niger Delta region. These young people had previously resorted to burning oil pipes and vandalising the infrastructure for mining communities as a message to the government. In response to this uprising, the Nigerian government came up with the Niger Delta artisanal training program where young Nigerians would be sent to South Africa to be trained as artisans, pilots etc.
BCE Institute was brought in as project management partner to help realise the goal of equipping these young people with the skills they would need to reap economic benefits.
The training focused on the technological aspects of artisanal training, as well as training that would support job creation, entrepreneurship and poverty alleviation in an innovative and economically sustainable way.
Upon successful completion of the training, participants received a certificates of competence.
